What to say in a 30-second radio spot

Radio listeners cannot see anything, so the words have to do all the work. A good thirty-second spot does four things, in this order.

1. The hook

Open with something that makes a listener stop: a question, a problem they know, or the name of your business said with confidence. You have about five seconds.

2. One idea

Say one thing about your business and say it clearly. What do you do, and why would a neighbor choose you? Skip the long list of everything you offer.

3. The offer

If you have a special, say it plainly. Give it a reason to act now, such as a date. Only say what is true.

4. How to reach you

End with your phone number or website, and say it twice if you can. Everything else is forgotten if listeners cannot find you.

You do not have to write any of this. Tell us about your business and what you want listeners to hear, and we write the script for you to read before you pay.
